Spacious and good location
Spacious, clean, and bright. The location was good.
The check-in instructions were completely wrong. The booking.com emai stated to check-in at the conference centre. We waited there for ages and then were advised to go to the hotel reception. We eventually got to the chalet minus the key that reception forgot to give us along with the keycard! Small kitchen, no oven or logs for the wood burner

They go above and beyond to entertain little ones with an awesome soft play, pool and a kids club style room with lots of toys and instruments.
Wish they had more restaurant choices. We were there in winter and only one place to eat.

Disappointing Extension to what was otherwise an amazing and magical stay in the Highland hotel
The room we were in was nice although compact and the bathroom was VERY small.
It was as like the premier inn compared to its sister hotel Hotel the Highland which we had stayed in for 5 nights. We extended our stay and were unable to stay in the same room or have a room in the same hotel and had to get a room for two nights in the Aviemore. We were disappointed from the start as it has non of the warmth and comfort of the Highland( or Morlich) and we felt like we were an inconvenience in the cold uncomfortable bar area where we had to wait while the rooms took an inordinate amount of time to sort! We had hoped due to being previously in the Highland and extending our stay we would be able to get in our new room from early afternoon especially as we had dealt directly with reservations throughout who really tried to help us and were brilliant ( thanks Laura!). However there was reportedly an issue with house keeping not updating systems and the weather having impacted we were advised with people arriving the day after they should . If that was the case the rooms should have been ready for the day prior and yet even arriving a day later their rooms weren’t available and neither was ours. There were increasingly angry people with children and dogs and the cold unwelcoming lobby was full with queuing people. When we did eventually get in our room we were opposite a family who had taken their dog. We love dogs and have 3 of our own ( staying with our eldest daughter at home) but we had been pleased to see that it was a dog friendly resort! However the family opposite hung the do not disturb sign on the door and left their dog for 3 hours the first night and over 8 hours the day after which disgusted us as the animal was frightened and in unfamiliar surroundings. It also was barking very very loudly and scaring the house keepers who wouldn’t go near the door when trying to bring us clean towels.
